    The trucking industry continues to grow at a 2.3 percent per year from 2019 through 2024, but offer little relief to shippers struggling through U.S. trucking shortage. But employment of heavy and tractor-trailer truck drivers is projected to grow 6 percent each year through 2026. As the demand for goods increases, more truck drivers will be needed.

    So far in 2019 has been more about the oversupply than the lack of demand, although both are present. More than 600 trucking companies have reportedly failed with two larger closing this week. But the agreement for China and the US to get back to negotiation by the end of the year things look brighter for the trucking industry.
