Position Overview

The Dispatcher’s primary responsibility is to quickly and efficiently assign On-Demand work to drivers as the work is received. Dispatchers analyze in real time, the available work to identify and create appropriate shipping lanes for drivers. You will also be responsible for building and maintaining positive working partnerships with all of our independent contractors. Both our Customers and Independent Contractors depend on our dispatcher to get the job done.

Responsibilities:

• assigning 300 to 500 on-call and recurring orders per day
• On-time performance of both your fleet/zone and the overall fleet
• Professional and respectful communication and relationships with drivers, customers and internal departments
• Quickly and effectively handling exceptions and special needs
• Mentoring Contractors and helping them succeed professionally

Skills:

• Dispatch Experience
• Expert knowledge of the Twin Cities Metro Area
• Experience with fast-paced, high-volume order management
• Good computer and typing skills
• Detail oriented
• Flexibility
• Excellent communication skills, working closely with office staff, customers and drivers.
• Must be positive person and a self-motivator
• Ability to be calm when challenges arise
• Transportation skills are a big plus

Compensation:

• $21.50 to $30.00 per hour to start (based on experience or ability). There is no slow track at Priority, once you demonstrate an understanding of our business we will place you in our operations center and adjust your pay to equal your ability. Primary Dispatchers can earn $80,000 to $93,000 annually.
• Full-time Morning, Midday and Afternoon shifts available.
