Logistics Officer

As a Logistics Officer for the CIA, you will have the unique opportunity to work with an accomplished, diverse team, providing a full range of logistical and supply chain management support across the country and overseas. The work includes providing logistical support and managing the overall logistic processes in support of our customers’ mission objectives; leveraging existing networks and expanding others; anticipating mission needs and operational requirements and offering alternatives and advice; and evaluating, redesigning and implementing logistics processes for mission support.

A career as a Logistics Officer requires a commitment to serve wherever the mission requires, including worldwide deployment to sometimes harsh and dangerous environments. Throughout your career you must maintain an ongoing readiness to travel and relocate to meet short and long term organizational requirements.

The Directorate of Support (DS) provides everything the CIA needs to accomplish its critical mission of defending our nation. The DS provides business operations support to Agency components including all aspects of security, logistics, facilities, finance, education, medical services and human resources. US citizenship required (dual-national US citizens eligible). All positions require relocation to the Washington, DC metro area.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields or related studies:
    • Business Administration
    • Business Management
    • Logistics
    • Transportation
    • Industrial Distribution
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Or seven years relevant work experience in the military or private sector with an emphasis in logistics, transportation or business experience
  • GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4-point scale
All applicants must successfully complete:
  • A thorough medical and psychological exam
  • A polygraph interview
  • A comprehensive background investigation

To be considered suitable for Agency employment, applicants must generally not have used illegal drugs within the last 12 months. The issue of illegal drug use prior to 12 months ago is carefully evaluated during the medical and security processing.
