Logistics Coordinator – Dalton GA
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the movement of material in/out of MFG’s warehouse based on customers’ requirements. He/she will monitor and complete paperwork for transactions associated with distribution in a timely manner. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Duties and responsibilities:
Build strong relationships with customers and coworkers that are based on trust and respect.
Participate in safety meetings.
Scheduling of all outbound shipments and deliveries for all three Georgia MFG plants.
Understand all applicable functionality within MFG’s ERP system to provide accurate updates to team and/or customers.
Work with customer service team to understand all customer information and needs to accurately provide the best service for each order.
Work closely with carrier assigned to orders to accurately ensure each load is being picked up and delivered on time.
Take initiative to prevent future service issues.
Answer and respond to telephone calls and emails.
Maintain transit maps for core carriers.
Exercise appropriate business discretion.
Work closely with Customer Care Specialists to ensure service meets customer requirements by being proactive on pick-up and delivery of loads.
Work with Shipping Department to ensure that packaging is compliant with destination country’s import guidelines.
Negotiate freight rates with carriers.
Verify freight invoices for accuracy and approve payout.
Print required shipping documents for Shipping Team.
Address and resolve any issues that occur during time of pick up through time of delivery.
Manage all aspects of carrier relationships including freight rates, dependability, and reliability.
Maintain KPI’s for MFG’s preferred carriers.
Support Customer Care Specialist as needed.
Assign badges to guests and track to ensure they are returned. Review safety procedures with each visitor.
Processes and confirms orders, and gives accurate order status information to customers’ order inquiries.
Offer solutions or suggestions to fill critical back orders.
Continuously look for ways to prevent customer dissatisfaction and improve service issues.
Listen to customer complaints, and offer empathy, reassurance and solutions.
Coordinate container shipments with the freight line and the Shipping Department.
Prepare export documentation and courier originals to appropriate freight forwarder or customer. File in compliance to document retention policy.
Annually update NAFTA documentation, and ensure we are up to date with federal guidelines. Submit updated NAFTA certificates to custom broker.

The minimum qualifications required to successfully perform this job include:
2 year associate degree –(focused in logistics or business) preferred.
Good communication skills; in person, over the phone, and via email.
Detail-oriented.
Must be able to take initiative and demonstrate a positive attitude.
Must be able to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
Proficient in use of software and computer applications such as Word, PowerPoint, etc.
Competent reading and speaking the English language.

This job is performed in an office environment type setting.

Physical demands are light, consisting primarily of sitting, standing, and walking. Must be able to:

No direct reports.
